I'll never forget the friends I'd made on Wizardry Online. The fear of perma-death frightened players into working together, especially with there being red players roaming dungeons, or even the city, making it so there were actually very few safe havens. Games these days lack any real social grounding, but Wizardry online practically forced you to make friends or suffer in silence. It's the only game that I've played that actually had proper puzzles that made you think in dungeons, rather than just breezing through to the end, and I'll never forget the dread you'd feel when roaming through a dungeon on your first time, without a party, and not knowing where to go or what to do to progress. People can say what they want about the graphics, but the gameplay was some of the most fun I've had in a dungeon crawler in quite some time. So which games do you want to light a candle for this evening? Post it up below! probably too much of a clone to survive outside of the korean import explosion of the early 2000s, but I have a soft spot for this one. Not a lot to say about this one, but I know it came back for a short time when it re-released as windslayer 2. I only played it for a short time, but that is definitely my favorite style of MMO, and I enjoyed the art in it more than either La Tale or Maplestory. Windslayer is a 2D mmo like La Tale or Maplestory. Loved every minute of the game, though it had janky movement, weird lag on skills, and bad armor designs, but if a new server opened up, I'd be playing it right now. that really caught my attention, and because it was free, I gave it a try back when i was 13 years old. It was basically just a Korean grinder, with a unique end game that I never saw, which revolved around one person being "the Archlord", basically the king of PVP, that got special skills like summons and the ability to change the weather. For me, I'll just talk shortly about 2 games, WindSlayer and Archlord.Īrchlord was my first MMORPG, and still one of my favorites. I wanted us to have a, I guess, Sunday Memorial for the games that have passed on. We also make it really easy to share opportunities with your friends.Hello everyone.
